Is the adventure capital of Namibia and as such is an extremely easy place to haemorrhage money. Of all the activities i went quad biking and fishing.
The Quad biking was excellent fun. Basically you just went as fast as the bike could take you through the sand dunes of the Namib desert.

The fishing given the price was disappointing. Six of us went out, three of us clients. When our hosts hooked a fish we were expected to get our lines out of the water. Very unprofessional. They even had the nerve to swap a 25kg fish for a smaller one, their excuse being that it wouldn't fit in our freezer. Heres a thought, use a knife. At the end of the day it wasn't all bad. I caught a shark (20cm monster) and 3 kiloish fish. Brett, another bloke from Adelaide, who was fishing not more than half a metre from me all day finished with 10 fish including a 25kg shark and another at 15kg. Not that i'm bitter about it.

Swakopmund as a town is interesting, a modern german city on the west coast of Africa with excellent restaurants and night life.
